Wriddhiman Saha announces retirement: The Indian cricket team is playing a five-match Test series against Australia from November 22. Now a big news is coming out from Indian cricket before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Veteran talented player Wriddhiman Saha has retired from all formats of cricket after a stable season in the Ranji Trophy. This 40-year-old player from Bengal played 40 Tests and 9 ODIs after making his international debut in 2010.
Saha will also not play the Indian Premier League (IPL). Saha was a part of Gujarat Titans (GT) in the last season of IPL. Saha said in a post released on social media, 'This will be my last season after a wonderful journey in cricket.

Wriddhiman Saha Debut
Wriddhiman Saha first joined the Indian team in 2010 for the Test series against South Africa. As long as MS Dhoni was there, his place in the Test team was not confirmed. After Dhoni retired from Test cricket in 2014, Wriddhiman got regular opportunities in Tests. Wriddhiman Saha last played a match against New Zealand in 2021. Since then he was out of the team. Saha is now 40 years old and he did not even get a chance for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, so he thought it appropriate to retire.
Wriddhiman Saha International and IPL Career
Wriddhiman Saha scored 1353 runs in 40 Test matches at an average of 29.41. During this, he scored three centuries and six half-centuries. As a wicketkeeper, Saha took 92 catches and made 12 stumpings in Test matches. Saha also got a chance to participate in nine ODIs, in which he scored a total of 41 runs.
