The initial T20I clash between New Zealand and Pakistan on January 12 witnessed the notable absence of Mitchell Santner, the Kiwi bowling-all-rounder, who is a regular feature across all formats. The reason behind his exclusion from the match was his positive COVID-19 test, leading to his isolation in Auckland's hotel. Santner is set to travel alone to Hamilton, the venue for the 2nd T20I in the ongoing five-match series.
