“I’m More Afraid Of Fielding Than Bowling” – Ravi Bishnoi Jokes About Playing Afghanistan In The Mohali Cold

Ravi Bishnoi Jokes About Playing In Mohali Cold: Ahead of the clash between India and Afghanistan in the opening T20I at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium, Mohali, Ravi Bishnoi light-heartedly shared his concerns about the chilly conditions. In a humorous vein, he remarked that fielding could prove more daunting than bowling given the biting cold.

Situated approximately 250 km north of Delhi and a mere 100 km from the snow-clad Shimla, Mohali witnesses temperatures plummeting to as low as 2 degrees Celsius during the night.

During a practice session on Wednesday, January 10th, Indian cricketers were observed wrapped in jackets even during their warm-ups. Meanwhile, figures like head coach Rahul Dravid opted for multiple layers of clothing and donned woollen skullcaps to combat the cold.
In a candid moment captured by the BCCI, Ravi Bishnoi engaged in some banter with former cricketer Pragyan Ojha. When asked about his feelings regarding fielding in such chilly conditions, the Lucknow Super Giants' leg-spinner humorously expressed his apprehensions, suggesting that dropping a catch in the cold could be costly.
Bishnoi quipped to Sports18, saying,
“In these freezing temperatures, fielding becomes a greater challenge than bowling. A missed opportunity, and you're left regretting.”
Highlighting the additional challenges posed by the dim floodlights, the 23-year-old further added,

“The visibility can be tricky due to the lower floodlights. Adapting to these conditions requires prior preparation and training.”
As the competition intensifies, Ravi Bishnoi might find himself vying with Kuldeep Yadav for the coveted spinner's spot against Afghanistan. Following the Mohali encounter, the action shifts to Indore's Holkar Stadium for the second T20I on January 14th, Sunday, before culminating with the final match at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium on January 17th, Wednesday.
